Greetings again, Chicago. My second visit to this amazing city came with a much more detailed plan of events. Although not the same type of fun that spontaneity can bring, this extended weekend getaway proved to be just as interesting and memorable. And with a little more research I was able to scratch the surface of the unique foods and attractions Chicago has to offer, (instead of meandering aimlessly through the endless streets until my feet bled).

I arrived Friday evening to temperatures 50 degrees cooler than what I am used to - a very welcome change from Texas weather. I had booked a room at the Intercontinental Hotel on the Magnificent Mile. The Magnificent Mile is an aptly named magnificent mile of shops that line a bustling street. No shopping was conducted however - why shop here when you can shop at the same stores anywhere else? First item on the agenda - bars and/or food. I ended up eating at a highly rated Japanese restaurant - Gyu Kaku, which happened to be a mere 0.3 miles from the hotel. The food did not disappoint.
